Workshops with Ty Burhoe

Spirit and Sound Workshop: 11am-1pm
Tabla Workshop: 1pm-3pm
$20 for one workshop; $30 for both

Spirit and Sound Workshop

* No experience or instruments needed
* Explore the principles of Nada Yoga “Sound as a pathway to the Divine”
* Speak the exhilarating rhythms of the tabla (drums of North India)
* Vocalize the basic building blocks within rhythm and tone
* Play and explore poly-rhythms and their relationship to harmony
* Deepen your awareness of your self and others through sound meditations
* Delve into Nada Brahma (sound and rhythm as a way to access the divine) and explore how to bring music and meditation deeper into our lives


Indian Tabla Workshop
* Everyone is welcome! Bring tablas (your own or borrowed) if you can
* Material pertinent for beginners as well as intermediate level players
* Whether your interest lies in classical accompaniment/solo, kirtan/bhajan, or western fusions, clarity of technique and tone production are paramount
